Remembering Erik Satie 1866-1925

How much do you know about the remarkable French composer, Erik Satie (1866-1925)? Although a century has passed since his death, his music feels as fresh and modern as ever.

Discover more about his beautiful and groundbreaking compositions in the company of Iwan Llewelyn-Jones and Tim Ward, as they perform a series of songs such as Je te veux (1903) and Le Piccadilly (1904), as well as Satie’s well-known piano pieces, Gymnopèdie no.1 a Gnossienne no.1. The author, Angharad Price, will introduce the performers and tell us more about the life of this extraordinary composer who had so much influence on the musicians today.

A concert featuring the world premiere of a brand new musical adaptation of one of Wales’ most iconic adventure novels, Madam Wen. Set in Anglesey in the early 18th century, the plot embraces action, excitement, highwaymen, smugglers, and at its centre, the beguiling and mysterious heroine, Madam Wen.

Dylan Cernyw (Harpist)

Dylan Cernyw is a freelance harpist, performer and teacher who has performed in Ireland, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Canada, Prague, China and Switzerland.

He has been an accompanist at the National Eisteddfod, Urdd and the Cerdd Dant Music Festival since 1995. He appeared as a guest at the Festival of a Thousand Voices in London and has performed with artists such as Bryn Terfel, Katherine Jenkins, John Owen Jones, Shân Cothi, Rhys Meirion, Rhydian Roberts just to name a few.
